機車族看過來！為加速淘汰高污染的燃油機車，新竹市政府與中央合作推出「汰舊換購電動機車」加碼補助措施，以降低交通運輸的碳排放，並針對車齡超過20年的二行程機車，推出歷年最高額度的補助方案，民眾最高可獲得4.7萬元的補助金額，申請期限至2024年補助款用罄為止。
新竹市環保局說明，欲申請「汰舊換購電動機車」補助者，機車須為2013年12月31日前出廠，且於2023年底前設籍新竹市，在淘汰並換購電動機車後，即可申請中央與市府的加碼補助。補助金額依照機車型式而有所不同，主要分為「小型輕型、輕型、重型」三類電動機車。

一般民眾汰換二行程機車，可獲得新臺幣1萬9100元至2萬6000元的補助；汰換四行程機車則可獲得新臺幣1萬5100元至2萬1000元的補助。此外，中低收入戶若換購電動機車，不只能獲得新臺幣2萬7100元至4萬1000元的補助，還能享有新臺幣6000元的充電費補助，總補助金額最高可達新臺幣4萬7000元，期限自2024年1月1日開始計算。
為了更進一步推動電動機車，新竹市目前已設置214處充電與換電站，提供友善的使用環境。民眾可至新竹市轄內85家機車排氣檢驗站辦理「汰舊換購電動機車」補助申請，或至新竹市環保局網站查詢具體補助辦法，也可撥打環保局專線「03-5368920轉2014或2002」進行諮詢。
