英國每日郵報報導，一名在烏克蘭國家安全局（SBU）服役的狙擊手聲稱，他使用烏克蘭武器製造商MAYAK 開發製造的大口徑狙擊步槍「地平線之王」（Volodar Obriyu），狙殺了約3.8公里外一名俄軍，還打破子彈飛行距離世界紀錄。
先前的紀錄是由一名加拿大特種狙擊手2017年在伊拉克創下，距離約3.5公里。據稱影片顯示，該名狙擊手開槍後數秒，一名俄軍倒下，原本三名俄軍變成兩名。這枚子彈據說飛行時間達10秒鐘。

SBU表示：「我們的狙擊手正改寫全球狙擊手的規則，展現無與倫比的遠距離作戰能力。」
烏克蘭軍方沒有提供其他細節，也沒有說明影片拍攝地點和如何證實該名狙擊手的行動。
美國「the Firearm Blog」網站指出，這把狙擊步槍「地平線之王」長度長達約180公分。若使用正確的子彈，擊發出去的子彈速度可比音速還快，飛行距離可能長達近三公里。
