成功大學副校長李俊璋：「她確實是有癲癇的病史，也有在服藥，有可能是她從圖書館的坡道上來之後右轉，右轉的時候她可能就已經發作，而導致她方向就有一些偏離。」
交通部曾規定癲癇患者不能報考駕照，這項法令被認為是對身障者的歧視，2020年修法放寬，近2年以上沒有發作，並具備醫師診斷證明，就可考領機車及小型車駕照，每2年必須申請換照。
不過卻有校內學生在網路上爆料，上學期末被林姓職員逼車追撞，校方進一步調查澄清。
成功大學副校長李俊璋：「我已經請駐警隊調當時的校安通報紀錄，沒有這個紀錄，當天確實有車禍是另外一件，跟這個職員沒有關係。」
副校長指出，林姓職員從95年入職到現在，已經服務近20年，工作表現一直都很好，知道她有癲癇疾病，還特別安排規律的工作時間，減輕工作壓力。
意外來得突然還發生憾事，校方表示會持續慰問死者及傷者家屬，也會替林姓職員，安排心理輔導。
