台灣中油公司宣布，自2024年9月9日凌晨零時起，汽油價格每公升調降新台幣0.6元，柴油價格則調漲新台幣0.3元。調整後的參考零售價格為92無鉛汽油每公升新台幣29.5元、95無鉛汽油每公升新台幣31.0元、98無鉛汽油每公升新台幣33.0元、超級柴油每公升新台幣28.2元。由於本週啟動平穩措施，汽、柴油價格分別各自吸收新台幣0.3元。
台灣中油進一步說明，本週國際油價呈現下跌趨勢。依據浮動油價調整原則，調價指標7D3B週均價下跌4.12美元，新台幣兌美元匯率則貶值0.146元，跌幅達3.82%。按照浮動油價機制，汽油本應調降新台幣0.3元、柴油應調漲新台幣0.6元，目前價格已低於日本、韓國、香港、新加坡等亞洲鄰近國家。

然而，在計算後發現95無鉛汽油價格超出每公升新台幣30元，因此啟動油價平穩措施的第一階段，吸收25%的調幅（四捨五入），汽、柴油每公升各吸收新台幣0.3元。最終，國內汽油實際價格每公升調降新台幣0.6元，柴油則調漲新台幣0.3元。
台灣中油表示，本週依據油價公式及政府調降貨物稅（汽、柴油每公升分別共降新台幣2元及1.5元）來調整國內油價，並持續以亞洲鄰國最低價及平穩措施運作，以協助穩定國內油價。本週汽、柴油各應調整的新台幣0.3元，均由台灣中油吸收。截至2024年8月底，台灣中油在2023年共吸收約新台幣219.43億元。各式油品調價後的參考零售價格調幅及調整金額詳見附表，實際零售價格以各營業點公告為準。
