在第八屆全球華文永續報導獎中，淡江大學的短片「浪板再生 永續的浪人精神」榮獲學生組影片類(短)優等獎。由簡銘志與戴上恩製作，這部作品聚焦於來自南非的Neil，他在宜蘭創立了木作衝浪板工作室Mu Surf。該工作室利用回收木材賦予破舊衝浪板新生，致力於打造環境友善的衝浪文化。
作品以衝浪板為切入點，強調其對環境的潛在危害，並展示了如何通過小改變來推動環保。入圍感言中，團隊感謝全球華文永續報導獎及指導老師萬玉鳳的支持，並強調環境友善意識的重要性。他們希望藉由這部作品引發更多人關注海洋環境保護，並認識到衝浪板對環境的影響。

評審對作品表示高度讚賞，讚許影片無旁白，純熟的攝影技術和豐富的層次展現了Neil的故事，腳本很好，全單一主角卻不乏味。他對環保的熱情和人生哲學充分體現了永續精神。作者善用標題金句，讓人印象深刻。故事主角的人生態度與哲學，完全體現實踐環保永續的精神。一個人的故事也能引人入勝，但如果能夠也帶進主角和當地居民的互動，聽聽在地臺灣人，怎麼看待這位外國朋友，以及他所帶來的影響，相信會有不同趣味。
