知名連鎖餐廳「冒煙的喬」主打美式及墨西哥等多種料理，在台中跟高雄擁有7間據點，復古的裝潢設計令人彷彿置身異國，道地佳餚深受老饕喜愛，是不少人聚會餐敘首選。2003年進駐恆春半島，期間從小灣地區擴大經營搬遷至大灣路，沒想到現在傳出將熄燈的消息，業者也證實，9月2日正式結束營業。
冒煙的喬墾丁大灣店鄰近最熱鬧的夜市商店街，藍白相間的建築佇立在沙灘旁，每到用餐時刻總一位難求，Google評論達4.1顆星。根據《自由時報》報導，店經理Nadien表示，近幾年墾丁觀光下滑，尤其疫情後也沒有復甦，人力短缺則是壓垮的最後一根稻草，無奈決定撤出，之後會拍賣店內的物品，很感謝與顧客度過的美好時光。

事實上，被視為墾丁大街地標、位於入口處的麥當勞，經營超過28年，去（2023）年遭遇小犬颱風肆虐，屋頂招牌被強風吹歪，受創嚴重，麥當勞總部基於整體商業考量，10月初宣布停業，不過當地居民推測可能和高昂的租金，以及恆春店成立後被瓜分客源有關。如今營業20年的冒煙的喬也熄燈，讓在地人相當不捨。
