根據當地人士，剛果民主共和國（DR Congo）東北部金礦資源豐富的伊圖里省（Ituri）一處礦場遭民兵攻擊，至少有4名中國公民喪命。
這次的襲擊中，也有數名剛果公民死亡或受傷。部分當地人士稱，發動攻擊的是民兵組織「剛果發展合作組織」（Cooperative for the Development of Congo,CODECO）。CODECO 聲稱自己是捍衛倫杜部落（Lendu）利益，對抗與他們敵對的赫馬部落（Hema）。

伊圖里省議員比基利森德（(Jean-Pierre Bikilisende）告訴法新社，CODECO 侵入的是距離阿邦比（Abombi）不遠的一座中國礦場。
他說，初步統計，有4名中國公民喪命，2名剛果民主共和國武裝部隊（FARDC）成員受傷。
其他當地人士則稱，共有6名中國籍人士和他們的保鏢、2名剛果士兵、2名剛果平民丟了性命。
另有人士說，還有其他人遭到綁架，且生死未卜。
